"Before using this method, I would get stuck and just throw out entire ideas and start over. Now, I have a much better understanding of how to make my ideas stronger and develop them into something."

"This method shows that composition is a PROCESS. I'm not sure what I thought it was before, but I wasted a lot of time sitting around waiting to feel inspired. I wish I had known this stuff sooner!"

"I have an musical education from Berklee, but I found this method so incredibly freeing! To just start a piece and explore linear harmony without worrying about a key signature or set of formulas was really exciting and inspiring."

The above quotes are from members of my composition cohort (where I used this exact curriculum/method for the first time).

The 6-week blueprint for the overthinking musician.

Do either of these sound familiar?

1. "I can come up with one good idea but have no idea how to develop it or finish it. I feel stuck."

2. "All my best material feels like an accident. I don't know how to replicate it without just writing the same piece/track over and over."

Been there.

But then I learned that composition is a PROCESS. And any process can be learned and improved upon with practice.

I made my first Composition Course about two years ago. And while I still think there's great information in that course, one thing always bothered me about it: most people never finished it.

And they certainly didn't PRACTICE the things they learned in it.

I've been guilty of the same thing. I'll learn lots of stuff from a course, but then never use what I've learned. I just move on to the next shiny thing.

But knowledge is useless without action.

So, I decided not to simply build another course.

Instead, I'm building a new Composition SYSTEM.

If you're tired of relying on "just playing stuff until something sounds good," this will give you a repeatable method for coming up with ideas and developing them into finished arrangements.

I've reverse engineered my own creative process into 6 detailed and specific composition prompts/exercises that will allow you to put the concepts I teach into immediate practice.

This system lays out exactly how I write music to this day. But I've taken out the guesswork and given you specific starting points that will focus your creativity and allow you to explore on your own.

It's accessible for beginners, but goes deep enough for seasoned composers develop new frameworks and inspiring methods for putting music together.

Over the course of 6 modules you'll actively:

1. Write linear chord progressions, breaking free from key signatures
2. Create sequences that beg to be repeated, and turn them into effective arrangements
3. Harmonize existing melodies/ideas using "harmonic escape"
4. "Simulate" your own melodies that feel focused and have effective structures
5. Use "thematic mining" to develop new, contrasting sections from existing material
6. Put all of the previous modules together into a finished piece of music using a process you can repeat again and again
7. Have inspiring new techniques to use while writing your own music, providing you with a nearly endless source of inspiration

Unlike my last Composition Course, you won't just listen to me talk about my own process. You'll immediately start experimenting with carefully thought-out prompts designed to teach you focus and intentionality.

I started developing this method alongside the members of my Composition Cohort in the spring. It was so helpful having their feedback as I built this out.

Now, I'm making it available to everyone who signs up for this waitlist.

Waitlisters will receive access weeks before anyone else at a discount.

They will also have the opportunity to go through the entire system WITH me in a cohort for accountability and support.

Hope to see you there!
