Finish Your Music (in 4 Days)
How many unfinished tracks are sitting on your hard drive right now?
How often do you get frustrated translating what's in your head into reality and just rage quit your DAW without even saving what you've spent hours working on?
In this 4-day challenge, I'll show you the very principles that changed the way I wrote music over a decade ago. And it won't take as long as you might think.
Why 4 days?
Because of Parkinson's Law: Work expands to fill the time available for its completion.
So, we're going to limit our time and learn a simple framework that will change how you think about putting music together. By the end of the week, you'll have a focused piece of music that was made with intention. AND you'll know a process you can repeat to do it again and again.
If you're tired of feeling overwhelmed and procrastinating, join us for the challenge and let's do this together in a supportive community of like-minded musicians.
In 4 Days, We'll Learn:
Â
DAYÂ 1)Â Focused EXPLORATION
It seems counter-intuitive, but limitations don't restrict your creativity - they actually FOCUS it. We'll see this in action and learn a simple (but effective) technique to start using creative constraints right away. We'll build a seemingly simple idea that can be developed into something much greater.
DAY 2) Don't Start Over, DEVELOP Instead
Now that we've made something focused and effective on Day 1, we'll learn specific ways to get more mileage out of that single musical idea. We don't have to throw the baby out with the bath water and start over; we can do what great composers do instead - DEVELOP our existing ideas. I'll show you how to get much more out of your existing material.
DAY 3)Â Answering Your Questions
I turn the floor over to you to ask any questions you might have about the compositional process. In this group Q&A, you can also benefit from hearing other people ask questions you may not have even thought to ask. This is where doing this in a small group shows its true benefits.
DAY 4) ARRANGEMENT Isn't Scary
When we use this approach (starting with a single, focused idea and developing material out of it) arranging your musical ideas is so much easier. In fact, it's the fun part. Trial and error becomes enjoyable once you have a process in place. I'll show you some examples and how to put this process to work in your own music.

Who is this for?
For any composer/music maker tired of relying on "happy accidents" and looking for a less overwhelming, more repeatable process.
Beginners, if you can drag MIDI around in a DAW, you can do this.
Experienced composers, come learn some simple but effective techniques you can use to break out of a rut.
What will the week look like?
- Live 1-hour Workshops on Mon, Tue, & Thurs (each followed by a 15 minute Q&A)
- Wednesday will be a dedicated 1-hour Q&A with me.
- Manageable but effective daily assignments (not tedious homework).
- Share your assignments with us in the private community each day for support and feedback.
- Re-watch all Challenge Call Recordings anytime during the week in case you miss a day or just want to revisit something we discussed.
- Tickets are limited! Don't put it off until they sell out.
